that he’s been protecting us from all these disasters for the past few days!

1. The earthquake in Fredricksburg, VA while we were in VA Beach! Us four were some the only ones who didn’t feel it since we were on an elevator!

2. We left VA beach the night before hurricane Irene hit VA!

3. Our house is intact with no flooding, no trees down, despite the tree that fell on a car 6 houses down!

Praise God for shielding and protecting us from these disasters.

My mom fits in this category. In the middle of her talking about how she’s acquiring more unnecessary items for our house, I prepared to tune her out. I was about to continue sifting through my bible to look for a perfect verse that would help me have more faith in dealing with this hurricane when i read this passage:

Proverbs 1:8-9
“My child, listen when your father corrects you. Don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck.”

God is truly watching. No. Matter. What.

Even if I’m praying for strength, perseverance, and faith for all who are in this hurricane’s path… I am truly grateful that the Lord still shows that he is listening to the entire picture my life is painting
